Ghanaian business magnate Sam Jonah was given the lifetime award at the historic Ghana Legacy Honors on March 25.
The event took place at the Movenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra. It was a black tie gala which honored both local and international pioneers of Ghanaian decent and their achievements and contributions towards the legacy of Ghana.
Other honorees included the head of the anti-corruption unit at the African Development Bank, Anna Bossman; tech innovator Herman Chinery-Hesse, and the CEO of Airtel Ghana Lucy Quist.
Sir David Adjaye, the world-renowned architect who designed the new Smithsonian National Museum of African-American History in Washington D.C also received the Impact in Architecture Award, with fashion designer Ozwald Boateng receiving the Impact in Fashion Award.
