Ghanaian architect David Adjaye is the only architect who was named in the Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2017. This makes him the most influential architect in the world.
The 100 Most Influential People list is an annual list that recognises the people who have made impacts on various levels in the world with their accomplishments.
The list is made up of the Pioneers, Titans, Artists, Leaders and Icons categories.
David Adjaye played a major role in the construction of the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC. He also has a housing Project called the Sugar Hill Development in Harlem, New York to provide affordable housing.
He was named as the new Royal Academician by the Royal Academy of Arts and was knighted by the Queen of England.
