The second edition of the African Pride Awards is set to take off on August 13 and the likes of Shatta Wale, Eugy, Nana Ama McBrown are some of the Ghanaians who have been nominated for various categories.
Shatta Wale has been nominated in the ‘Artiste of the Year (Africa) category with Wizkid, Davido, Mr Eazi, Tekno, Yemi Alade, Tiwa Savage and Diamond Platnumz. Maleek Berry, Sona, Moelogo, Eugy, Juls and Ms. Banks have also been nominated for the ‘Artist of the Year (UK) category.
For the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Film (Africa)’ category, Funke Akindele, AY, John Dumelo, Nana Ama McBrown, Nomzamo Mbatha and Abraham Attah have been nominated, with John Boyega, Idris Elba, Maria Gomez, Chucky Venn and Daniel Kaluuya are also competing for the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Film (UK) category.
Nqobile, Ezinne Asinugo, Sherri Silber and GOP Dancers are in the ‘Dance/Choreography of the Year’ category, with Bella Naija, Iroko TV, Linda Ikeji, Afrobeat360 and Factory 78 are in the ‘African Online Entertainment Platform of the Year award, and Abrantee, Twin B, Julie Adenuga, Maya Jama and Manny Norte are in the ‘Radio Personality of the Year’ category.
Music legend Awilo Longomba will get the Lifetime Achievement Award with the Special Recognition Awards going to Ade Adepitan, SBTV, Link Up TV, GRM Daily, John Boyega, Larry Ekundayo, Eddie Kadi and The Compozers.
Voting is open to the public with the first round ending on July 30. Winners will be announced at the main award gala on August 13.
