Rebecca Akufo-Addo, the First Lady of Ghana, has pledged her support for the Black Star International Festival.
“This is a good initiative that will go a long way to promote the art and tourism sectors in Ghana. I will be at the programme and will be there to support you as long as the festival is alive,” Mrs Akufo-Addo said when the founding President of BSIFF, Juliet Asante, paid a courtesy call on her office.
The Minister of Tourism, Arts and Culture, Catherine Afeku, was also at the meeting and promised to be present at the festival. Samira Bawumia, the wife of the vice president, was at the opening ceremony which happened earlier today.
The 2017 edition of BSIFF started today and will end on August 21.
