After a lady was turned away from the Miss Ghana auditions in Takoradi, the organizers of the pageant have come out to say that they do not accept ladies with bleached skin.
The said lady couldn’t be allowed because of the skin bleaching and she explained that she used a cream to get rid of some ‘rashes’ on her face but had to apply it to her whole body after realizing that her face’s complexion was lightened.
“Yes, it happened. My team told me about it. We prefer natural skin tone and not bleached. We encourage ladies to be confident, have self worth and be true to themselves. Bleaching your skin doesn’t fit in our values,” Inna Patty (Exclusive Events Ghana CEO) told Citi FM in Ghana.
“We encouraged ladies we meet in our audition and selection process to stop bleaching, work on improving or healing damaged skin to a natural tone and they can always come back if they are interested and meet the requirements.”
The Miss Ghana auditions train is moving around Ghana and will be in Accra on September 1.
