Sarkodie pulled out of the One Africa Music Festival in Dubai because of what he described as disrespect by the organizers of the festival.
He was scheduled to perform at the event but refused to mount the stage, though he had conducted a successful soundcheck session.
According to Eugene Osafo Nkansah, though Sarkodie had been announced by host Banky W, he was shoved aside because Davido was ready to perform.
“During the concert, host of the show, Banky W announced Sarkodie as the next act on stage after Nigeria’s Tekno performance and Sarkodie’s DJ, DJ Mensah mounted the stage but Banky W came back to announce Davido’s name after someone whispered to him on stage that Davido was next.”
There are, however, some indications that these reports aren’t exactly accurate.
Sarkodie later apologized to his fans for his inability to perform.
Sorry to fans in Dubai but I’m not performing… hopefully I make it next time … 🙏🏾
