The organisers of the Miss Ghana pageant, Exclusive Events Ghana, have described allegations that some former winners were exploited as baseless.
In a statement signed by the lawyers of the company, Akufo-Addo, Prempeh & Co, the reports going round are ‘vicious’ and ‘malicious’.
“We are instructed that the said allegations are baseless, categorically untrue, inspired by malice and only calculated to ridicule, embarrass, disparage and bring our clients’ enviable reputation into disrepute. Clearly, these allegations are coming from disgruntled ladies who, after having had the opportunity to use our clients’ platform to project their image, have turned around in such undignified manner to denigrate the very platform they had amply benefitted from. Our clients will take the appropriate steps to vindicate their rights and clear their names.”
The statement went on to warn the general public and the media to desist from publishing the materials in circulation.
A few days ago, voices of interviews with three former Miss Ghana winners suggested that they had been treated unfairly by the organisers.
