Jackie Appiah was in Krobo Odumase to celebrate her birthday with old women in that town.
In previous years, the actress celebrated with orphans but this year, she went on to the other side. She presented the people with cash and some items like rice, toiletries, mattresses, cooking oil and pieces of cloth for the women.
“I am here today to celebrate this day with our mothers who sold their cloth and sometimes starved themselves to cover us and feed us,” she said.
“I am hereby, by this act, echoing the need to pay attention to the aged, especially ageing women within our population. Sometimes, we are so busy growing up, forgetting the whole experiences of loneliness, neglect, ageing disorders and most of all, wrongful witchcraft allegations that are levelled against them.”
The appreciative women of Krobo Odumase also gave something that the area is well-known for – beads.
