GH One TV’s Eli Kharis has been adjudged TV host of the Year 2017 at the 2018 West African Youth Awards.
She was awarded excellence in the broadcasting field at a ceremony held at the La Villa Boutique Hotel in Accra.
The awards celebrate young people between the ages of 18 and 35, who made outstanding achievements during the year under review.
It is aimed at building a bridge amongst West African Youth towards developing the region.
Born Elinam Amenyo, Eli Kharis as she is widely known is the host of Buzz (entertainment segment on Rhythmz Live) and Let’s Go Shopping on GHone TV.
Her media career started as a student of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in 2012.
Kharis hosted two talk shows on Campus radio station, Focus FM: ‘A Health Talk’ and ‘Every Woman’s Corner’ – a lifestyle show that sought to empower the youth to live a healthy life and purposeful lives on campus.
She was also a part of the news team of the station for a period of two years.
Kharis joined GhOneTV as a national service personnel when the station was owned and managed by CharterHouse after a successful audition.
‘The Cake Fair 2017,’ ‘Glitz Africa’s SHE Summit – Campus edition,’ launch of ‘Yenko Taxi’ app, Mr Model Africa 2017 and Accra Mall Fashion Weekend are some of the events she’s hosted.
